Seahawks Stun Chiefs 20-3, Hand First Loss
The Seattle Seahawks handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season with a 20-3 victory, stunning fans and analysts alike.

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 on Sunday night, handing the Chiefs their first loss of the season. Sam Darnold led the Seahawks to victory, backed by a strong home crowd, with Seattle entering the game as a 3-point favorite. The 12th Man played a key role in energizing the team throughout the matchup.
The Chiefs struggled offensively, with Patrick Mahomes failing to throw a touchdown for the second consecutive game. This marked the first time in Mahomes’ career that the Chiefs were held out of the red zone entirely. Dropped passes, turnovers, and missed opportunities plagued Kansas City’s offense, contributing to their inability to score.
The Seahawks took a 10-0 lead into halftime, with Darnold connecting on a 28-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Despite an interception by Darnold, the Chiefs couldn’t capitalize, as Harrison Butker missed a 58-yard field goal attempt. Mahomes and the Chiefs entered halftime with just 92 total yards of offense and no points on the board.

Seattle sealed the win with a defensive stop on downs after running down the clock.
The Chiefs now stand at 5-1, maintaining their lead in the AFC West with a 5-0 conference record. The Seahawks improved to 4-3, climbing to second place in the NFC West with a 1-2 conference record. The Minnesota Vikings remain the only undefeated team in the 2026 NFL season, sitting at 6-0.
The Chiefs will look to rebound against the Denver Broncos next Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET, while the Seahawks will face the Chicago Bears next Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
